I have learned so much in just the past few years, that I am amazed I didn't know before. One of these days I will post about what brought me to where I am now. And if you were guessing 54, that is right! And thanks for the sweet comment you posted.
CindyFor Love Of Homehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16248052694100932039noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5990440235705634705.post-39449530043774078072008-03-07T13:37:00.000-05:002008-03-07T13:37:00.000-05:00Janet, the aging parent years are definitely tough...Janet, the aging parent years are definitely tough. No matter how good the facility appears to be, you MUST monitor them and make appearances at all hours of the day and night to observe how your loved one is being cared for.

My mother spent five years in what was supposed to be one of the area's best nursing homes. I could tell you things that would make you sad, and some that would make you cry -- and I'm talking about how the staff cared for the residents.

I hope this gentleman is one of the lucky ones who is in a facility that won't dampen his enthusiasm for life.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5990440235705634705.post-5233538967496756872008-03-06T09:29:00.000-05:002008-03-06T09:29:00.000-05:00Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful...we all need a re...Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful...we all need a reminder like this every now and again to keep us thankful.

One of my favorite quotes is by Walt Disney (go figure): "Happiness is a state of mind.
