Last Monday we went exploring in a part of Westerly Rhode Island known as Watch Hill. What an eye opener...I wandered around in the staggering heat oohing and aahing. We went to see a lighthouse and the only way to get to it was to walk thru a private enclave of homes. This is allowed...don't worry. We could meander the grounds of the lighthouse, but not go thru the gates as it is a Coast Guard facility. Check out these homes all facing the water....
I believe a woman with a sense of humor lives here!
Same house, different view
This one seemed very small ( and old) by comparison
In light of our recent unexpected expense, we kept trying to imagine how much these wooden shingle roofs with some many peaks, valleys, eyebrow windows and dormers would cost...a veritable roofers' dream!
Modest by comparison
You know I wanted to wander by there at night with my clippers ;)
Now for a couple of boats...what would a beach town be without boats, right?
How cool is that?
And of course...the lighthouse ( Watch Hill Light).
I want to thank everyone who stops by to read my blog. I put that live feed widget thingie on and I am amazed that so many people look at my blog and that you come from all over the world. Thank you, thank you, thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
Later,
Janet
