YOUR ASSISTANCE, PLEASE
Okay girls, those of you of a certain age will certainly remember Jean Nate and that crisp summery fragrance that we splashed on after a bath. You can smell it now, can't you? I am thinking 1967 give or take a year or two. About the same time there was another line of products ie: lotions, powders etc that was pink and I didn't like the smell at all. I thought it was called Desert Rose, but I can't find anything to verify that and it is making me crazy. Does this happen to any of you...your mind just becomes a giant sieve when you need to retrieve something oh so important, like the name of a lotion that you didn't even like forty plus years ago? If you think of the name of it please let me know. Barring that I am sure my mother still has some in the back of the bathroom closet and to answer your next question...no my MIL did not have any. Her ten tons of lotions, potions and powders were much newer, thank you very much.
Later,
Janet
PS. I did find some Tweed bath powder at the MIL's and that was another scent that never did much for me.

I have some of the Jean Nate in the back of my cabinet upstairs.
ReplyDeleteHi, Janet! Yes, I remember Jean Nate, and I think the other lotion may be Dessert Flower. I love your blogspot.
ReplyDeleteI's help you out, but my sieve has bigger holes.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness...Tweed was my mother's favourite perfume and I hated it, far to strong and cloying for me!!!!! Yuk........ cannot help you with the Jean Nate sorry........
ReplyDeleteMy own personal favourite was Gianne Versarce.......you cannot get it anymore. I have one precious bottle which has been kept in its box ever since I bought it and its only used on very special occasions. I have to be very careful with perfume, it changes scent on me, so often I find something I like, have a spray and end up with it smelling like cats pee.........
Hi Janet :)
ReplyDeleteI remember that perfume! I was born in 69, but it was still popular when I was a kid. The other perfume sounds familiar, but I don't remember it all that well.
Congratulations on your clean bill of health!

ReplyDeletewasnt there a scent in pink called Chantilly?
ReplyDeleteOh, wow... What memories came flooding back. I have Jean Nate in the bathroom now. My mom always wore it. After she died in '96 I had to get some so I could always have that smell around. I remember using Love's Baby Soft and Tabu in the 60's and all the boys wearing English Leather.... I can smell it now... Donna @ An Enchanted Cottage
ReplyDeleteAnd who can forget Emeraude (?SP?), and my sister used to always have Evening in Paris also - they were both in cool bottles! Can't remember a pink one tho!
