BUSY, BUSY

Sorry to have been absent since Friday and to leave you all in the lurch. I have been trying to get my house in order for Thanksgiving and the way too quickly approaching Christmas festivities. I am not much of a housecleaner. I can't stand clutter or messes, so that is not usually a problem and my house is never really dirty, but it is rarely as clean as I think it should be. Case in point...Monday night we moved the stove out and cleaned under and behind, plus the sides and the sides of the cabinets. I don't even want to tell you the last time that was done, but it is done now. That of course prompted me to take stuff off the backsplash and clean all the little spots. Remember my kitchen gets used every single day and it does take a beating. I cleaned a couple of the copper pots, not all; I wouldn't want it to look like a kitchen showroom!! Last night we moved the refrigerator out of the space it occupies. The space is approximately 1/4 of an inch bigger than the fridge, so maneuvering it is a challenge. But should anyone want to look under or behind it is spotless.

After all this work I decided to take a break this morning. I set the oven to clean and left the house for my Root Canal appointment. Still numb.

Later,

Janet

  8. I love that feeling of contentment when you know it's clean BEHIND things that no one will even see...somehow it just makes you feel better knowing it's done!

Root canal...I hope you aren't in too much pain when the numbness wears off!

  10. Love the pot rack - always wanted one but too scared to try attaching to the ceiling!! Your kitchen is great Janet and nice to know you use it.

I must pull out appliances too - hate that part of cleaning.

Good luck with the root canal.

  11. Good for you! I'm sure all of us do that kind of cleaning very rarely! I do hate it though when a service guy comes out to fix the stove or something, and when he pulls it out there's a mess of stuff underneath - dust, cat toys, crackers, missing utensils, more dust, etc.

But I'd rather clean under the stove than have a root canal. ::Jill

  15. janet~you are making me feel guilty about not cleaning under the frig in a while!lol! Maybe I'll attack this today. I'm so sorry you got a ticket & have to pay for a subscription to dovetails! The parking ticket & the missed free subscription is what would have happened to me too! As a matter of fact I too missed the free subscription. :( you'll have to tell me who you were with. Hope the rest of the day was fun & not expensive! :) chris
