FRENCH COUNTRY HOME

I know I posted this on Thursday, but I would like to direct everyones attention to Hooked on Houses Friday feature where we all post about what we are "hooked" on this week . I am definitely "hooked" on this house
that we saw on Multiple Listing Tour yesterday. I am so ga ga over this house I cannot even see straight. The pictures are from Realtor.com and do not in any way portray the gracious splendor of this house nor the attention to detail. It is as if Charles Faudree, Pierre Deux ( I know he is a company, not a person) and Ralph Lauren sat down and put this house together over some wine and cheese. Definitely not Miller Lite and Lil Smokies!

Entrance

Details of millwork
In case you missed it...LOL

Living Room
Dining Room
The most darling powder room!

Family room...part 1
Part 2, what a shame the fireplace has never been used.
Entrance to the basement "work out room" Love that color blue and the distressing

Perfect guest room...so very soothing and lavender scented..happy dreams mon cheries

Edited to add: The house is in Wrentham Massachusetts and is listed for $839,900. Please feel free to call me for any showings!

SUNSHINE

I showed the cutest house today. Yes, you read that right... *I* showed not just one house, but several houses to two sets of buyers today. This house was so adorable, updated just right in my mind. The buyers are just starting to look and have a condo to sell in Rhode Island before they can buy, but what fun to have a chance to look at Antique houses. This one was just so sunny and bright with a pantry to die for.

Impeccably done kitchen with high end appliances
Heart be still, the pantry of my dreams with built in dispaly shelves on the entire right side
I can live with wallpaper if it is this tasteful
Large dining room with built in
Love the furniture, the yellow chair is a lovely gold toile.. I want it all...coveting again!

Much brighter than the picture and don't you love the little..er...petite chandelier?

The second buyers were my stepson and his girlfriend and the houses were really in a way different price point and not too cute. They are contemplating buying my in-laws house and just want to see what they could get for the same money. Makes the "Family Estate" look like the bargain that it is. Cunning Realtor, but think how much easier it would be to sell to them and have the pressure off trying to get everything done to list it the first of March. Plus it would make Bob very happy to know that after all the tens of thousands of dollars of stuff we have given away we could help one of the kids get a good start.

YELLOW HOUSE

144 Brattle Street sold recently for $3,777,350 in 34 days. I swear I took a picture of this very house, but it is gone. There is approximately 5900 square feet of living space and don't worry there is an elevator from the basement to the third floor. Taxes are $19,400 per year, pretty reasonable for the size, location and the history. Just a couple of pictures for you to enjoy the ambience.

Lovely staircase...just picture Loretta Young, hand on railing

Cabinets not my style, but I would live with them forever to have that stove. I also love the chandelier over the table, sort of Gothic/Spanish and moody. And I would use all the copper pans ( I use mine all the time and sometimes I even polish them!)OK, so there is vinyl on the floor...so what?I would write my memoirs at that desk in the window while watching colorful leaves slowly drift by, or maybe snowflakes. The room just looks so welcoming and I think I can smell soup simmering from the kitchen.

Then I would retreat to my bedchamber with a cozy fire to read before retiring.

Fantasy over..back to life with my abcessed molar.

COMING SOON

Cambridge, MA

Hi everyone,

I am working on a new Historic House Tour. The walking has been done and the snapping of pics has been done and now I just need some photo editing time. Hopefully I will have something up for your viewing pleasure, with some oohs and aahs, tomorrow.

WEEKEND WALK-BY

I went to Holliston today to look at a couple of my favorite shops. Before I left I took a little walk to check out some of the homes.

Then I found a "Dead End Street". These were the only houses on this street; a "Street of Dreams", perhaps?
Talk about a house to get lost in, wow!

From the other side, not fond of the replacement windows, but what are you gonna do?

This one is my absolute favorite. So quintessential New England!

The rest of my favorite. What about that Carriage House??

Next door

Across the street

Picture perfect ( even if not perfect picture). The house at the "dead end".

Perhaps I should return to this street when the leaves turn in October.
