I was bitten by the decorating bug very early and just love decorating books, magazines and historic house tours. Don't call the police, but I like nothing better than walking down a street at twilight and seeing homes lit up and being able to glance at the decor, thus the name of my blog.
I am a Realtor (for 13 years) and love my job, at least most of the time.
I am a wife (second time around) and the mom +/or stepmom of four grown boys.
Here is a restoration project that is going on near me. Check it out at modvic.com Unfortunately I am not going to be around for either of their Open Houses and it is even more unfortunate that I do not have a buyer for the house :(
Akkkk they totally ruined the kitchen. Why do people buy old homes but wont them to be like new, grrrrrrrrrrrrr. Clarice-who has very strong opinions about old homes
I sure would love to have the money to restore something like that! I used to be more romantic and imagine that I could tackle it, but I am becoming more realistic in my older age. It takes one huge chunk of change to do it right!
My wife, Melanie and I would love to give you a private tour if you're interested sometime in the next few weeks.
We just finished plastering the walls and we're putting in the kitchen cabinetry (there were 5 kitchens before when it was still had 5 rental units) and tiling the bathrooms. We just got a great story in the Sun Chronicle www.sunchronicle.com on Monday and will be getting more press in the Boston Globe and Providence Journal at the end of March.
Janet - thanks for visiting our blog! I had to laugh when I popped onto yours - I am totally a house peeper too! If I could, I'd try to make it into every house on the street, block, and world. I just love how all the architecture is places in homes - thanks for sharing this home with us!! Karla
