PRIMED
Eight, count 'em 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 hours and about 3/4 gallon of primer. Yes, I would love to beef up the mantel and have a surround built, but the fireplace is not flat, but is stepped and therefore I need to have something custom designed and built. Not happening until the housing market comes back. But I digress somewhat. Ignore the white inside the firebox on the right. Don't know what I was thinking, must have been an ADD moment. I will repaint those with a lovely soot color.
Nooks and crannies. Great in English Muffins. Horrible in brick. There must be about an acre of surface area in this fireplace.
Tired and bored!

way to go! great job, despite the firebox foray... i think one is supposed to have those little brush mishaps just to make the job interesting. on tv 'they' make putting together a surround easy as pie. so now, like you, i think of the surround i want, but i am frustrated about not being clever enough to do it on my own! is that what the tv people intended?
ReplyDeletethat was my post. i forgot to sign it. jkj
ReplyDeleteThe hubby painted our front door today..red, my choice. We lost count of how many coats of paint it took at 5.Looks awesome, I'll post some pics. The fireplace will be well worth the work!
ReplyDeleteGreat start , looks so much better already ...cant wait to finished piece..Martha

But it looks great and beauty is pain, right?? ;)
ReplyDeleteIt looks good! Brick is hard to paint. I remember how time consuming it was to paint the brick on our exterior and how brushes the brick ate!
