THE WINTER OF MY DISCONTENT

This is what I awoke to this morning. Pretty, if and only if, it were Christmas morning. I seem to be really over winter this year and I have been pondering why I seem so anxious for spring. I grew up in Northern New England where we never uncovered perennials until Memorial Day weekend, so certainly winter is not a new concept. Is is because I am just getting older and no longer have the patience for winter or perhaps because I am now in daily "contact" with women from all over the world, many of whom live in more temperate climes and are touting the signs of spring? *Sigh* I don't know, but I do know that I will continue my daily contact with my new friends because, well, because I like you. You bring so much joy into my life with your fun posts and your comments, I just don't know what I did before I knew you.

Later,
Janet

  1. Wouldn't it be nice if we could trade a little of this season for a little of that? I wanted it to snow here at least once this year, but it never did. I'd love to take some of your snow! ::Jill

  3. Hi Janet! Love, love, love your sense of humor! Will be visiting you often! Fear not, you're not the only one sick of winter!! Cabin fever has gained momentum here in Ohio. We are doing some painting inside just to do something, how sick is that? Sherry

  5. You can come and stay with me, I thought I would love to live somewhere it snowed, thank you for this reminder. We are working on high 60's today, I woke up to yard equipment noises this morning.

  7. Janet - I was actually wishing for a longer winter! I never really felt like I got a break. Winter is the time I usually slow down and read a lot but this year it didn't work out. I'm going with the flow of spring being here cause I really have no choice! It'll be hotter than you know what before long and I won't be able to do a thing outside.
