What do you think??

  1. Lots of fun colors - looks like some neat paint finishes too. Is that a mural in the last picture?

Just wanted to stop and say hi and let you know that we tagged you - if you'd like to play along - come on and join us!

  2. I love the outside of the house very much! It has a cottage look to it which is my favorite!

I don't the inside matches the out though. I do love the finish of the paint on the walls, and the color in the kitchen area. I'm not a big fan of the southwestern look especially when I see it in a house that look as if if should be full of fat, cozy furniture and toile cutains!
    Have a great weekend!

  3. Very New England! Love the stone wall, and step-back addition on the house! Love the eclectic interiors. It's as if the home has been owned by the same family for many generations and decor has been added as times have changed, but some things have been held on to.

  4. whoaaaa! no thanks. i would be so disoriented inside b/c i thought i was in a cape, but NO! i'm not afraid to say that i'm a reluctant fan of the tromp l'oeil and it isn't working for me in this house. and i KNOW what you think jkj

  5. Is this a trick question? Am I suppose to like it? Hate it? Who's house? I did my living room walls in a similar color and wash but it's too overdone I think in the photos - I like mine better because it's more subtle. I like the distressed blue cabinets in the one photo a lot!

  6. Oh - ok.....now we get what you were after! Yes - that outside doesn't go with that inside. We both decorate our homes to the period & style of the house - it is just something we feel we have to do - for the house.....perhaps #8 on quirky things about us!
    Looking forward to your responses!!

  7. I think a home is a house until you make it your own.

  8. your walls are done in a similar way to mine! old world charm!

  9. I love the outside...I could move right in but I would lighten up the inside a lot! Too dark and Old World for my taste. I love love love that stone fireplace!

  10. What is that on top of the cabinet in the last photo? It looks like a 1/2 a woman! LOL

  12. Love the cape from the outside! Cute color blue. Thanks so much for your input on the windows! I really think I am leaning more toward to traditional style. I just think it will be more timeless. Thanks again and I hope to see you soon;)

  13. I think I could have you a buyer...there is one slight credit problem, as she is only 9 and has no credit. Maddie would not have to near as much work as anyone else to make this house livable (see her room at fiddle dee dee). Definately different!

    Good luck with the sale,

  14. Hi there! Not sure who's house this is. It has some cute touches. I agree that the inside and outside are very different.

  17. The outside is cute cottage, the inside is sort of dark. I'm not a fan of faux finish walls - to me it just looks dirty :-) But it's not my house, and I'm sure whoever lives there loves it and that's all that matters.

  18. This is a trick question, right?? I'm really thinking that the flash on the camera doesn't show the true colors...but the faux walls are cool and love those beadboard cabinets.

    So...come on...give. Share the details, please.. :)

  19. Janet,

    You would adore Eagle, Idaho.

    It's so quaint and pretty.

  20. The interior looks like a castle or along those lines. Way too theme-y for my tastes. A lighter hand and just touches of old world might do, but really, it needs to be not so heavy and dark, IMHO.

  21. ...as you know Janet I drive by several times a week ...it is cute, cute, cute from the outside . I think of Capes as comfy, cozy maybe a blue and white kitchen...even a little funkier
but I dont really care for the inside , too much stuff ( and I love stuff)or faux finishes or both ...kinda disappointing..

  22. I would have to lighten up the inside and declutter a bit. And redo the front plantings. Did I say too much? :)

  23. I thought it was your house, so I wrote something positive. But, I agree the inside doesn't match the outside. And if they're trying to sell it they really need to declutter and depersonalize. I want to do a drive by; I'm going to look on the MLS!

  24. Okay, so the outside does not match the inside but heck. I think it shows they loved this home and really enjoyed it. Their personality shines through.

  25. I like it. It was colorful and cheery. It had a great mix of patterns.

  26. I'm so behind on my blog reading that I missed this post. Love it! My jaw dropped when I saw the interior photos. I never saw those rooms coming! What a fun house tour, Janet. I get such a kick out of seeing something "different" like this. I have a feeling they may have a tough time selling it, though! -Julia
