I will probably be kicked out of "The Sisterhood" for promulgating blonde jokes, but I couldn't resist, besides I have some blonde highlights myself (and a few "blonde moments" that go with them).
Do you know what a 710 is ?
Do you know what a 710 is ?
A few days ago I was having some work done at my local garage. A blonde came in and asked for a seven-hundred-ten.
We all looked at each other and another customer asked, 'What is a seven-hundred-ten?'
She replied, 'You know, the little piece in the middle of the engine, I have lost it and need a new one..' She went on to say that she did not know exactly what it was, but this piece had always been there.
The mechanic gave her a piece of paper and a pen and asked her to draw what the piece looked like. She drew a circle and in the middle of it wrote 710. He then took her over to another car which had its hood up and asked 'Is there a 710 on this car?'
She pointed and said, 'Of course, its right there.'
P.S. My FIL is out of the hospital and has been moved to a Nursing Home for re-hab. Seems he has a gall bladder infection which presents like a stroke. Last year when my MIL had her kidney removed she got a urinary tract infection which mimics dementia and paranoia. She doesn't remember a thing about it, but in retrospect she was pretty darned funny.
You made me laugh out loud. That is so funny. My son has blond hair, and I always tell him blond jokes.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad your father-in-law is improving.
That was so funny! Im going to find my husband and show him! I enjoy your blog, too. We have so much in common! I too love house decoration!
ReplyDeleteHmm...I am a blond and I just did not get this joke. At all. Nope. What is so funny about a 710 cap? I have one myself. Excise me while I go brush my blond hair and ponder this....

I've been dropping by your blog for a few weeks now. I really enjoy it, especially your wonderful pics. Anyway, this post made me burst out laughing. :D Thanks for sharing.

Hi, Janet, thanks for stopping by. That is hilarious! And I'm blonde, but can still enjoy a blonde joke. I might have to pass this one on to my hubby, he'll love it. he's always teasing me. And I have to say, with getting older, I'm having a LOT more blonde moments these days..ha-ha!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on winning that book, looked like a good one.
Rhoda
LOL! Now that was funny....

Very funny! Glad your FIL is out of the hospital. I didn't know that about a gallbladder infection!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
Manuela
Funny!
ReplyDeleteI'm having a "blonde moment" myself right now because I can't remember if I ever thanked you for adding Hooked on Houses to your blogroll! If I didn't, I meant to. If I already did, well, thanks again! -Julia :-)
I must have been blonde in another life, because I had to click on the link to figure out what a 710 was!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear what they discovered about your FIL. My FIL went to the hospital with stroke-like symptoms, and it turned out he had Muliple Myeloma -- nasty, inoperable and incurable.
Loved the old house in the previous post, too -- beautiful!!!
xxo,
Mary
Thanks for visiting, Janet. I must say I am also rather technologically illiterate so blogging is a challenge! I had to smile when I read your original remark about Jean - "We thought her really exotic". All the AFS students from South Africa and at university also thought Jean exotic!!! So it had nothing to do with her South African background!! Have a good day! Eleanor
ReplyDeleteCute story....Glad you FIL is doing better.
ReplyDeleteGlad your father-in-law is doing better - and that it wasn't something more serious.
