THE CUTEST THING

picture from BHG

Is this not the cutest thing you have ever seen? I have a love/ hate relationship with acorns. Hate them in my yard ( and I have a lot of oak trees), but I love them in any decor item kind of way.

  1. Lovely wreath display for the season. Can imagine little acorns all over your yard is slippery, makes it hard to mow and all kinds of other complaints but hey they sure are cute!

  5. Love that!! Once when still lived in Fl, we came to NC in the fall. At a park, I picked up about 100 acorns to bring back to Florida for decoration on my fall tablescape. When we got home, I put them in a bowl on the kitchen counter. The next day when I work up, the counter was covered with ants! They were living in the acorns!! YIKES!

  6. Better get yourself on over to Pottery Barn...they have a bag of 54 acorns to use for filler in a vase or bowl. I know you have real ones, but these will last forever! Plastic with a real acorn top. I'll bet they look just like the ones in your yard!

  7. That is a cute wreath, but I agree with Mockingbird Hill - get the fake ones. I once brought some inside for decoration and the next day little WORMS had come out of them. YUCK! I never did that again even though we have thousands of acorns all around our home and garden.

  8. I thought of you yesterday when I was in a local craft boutique bz they had some of the cutest acorns adorning some decorations. Some were just cute oversized acorns! See what blogging does....it opens my eyes to cute things I might not have paid too much attention to before!

  9. That is cute! Our last house had a huge oak tree in the front yard and I well remember all those acorns falling and making a racket. Not to mention all the little seedlings we'd get. But it was a really beautiful tree!

  10. This is darling. I love it. I'm with you: love/hate relationship with acorns. We rake them up every fall, and every fall I wish I could sell them for a penny each because I think we would be rich.
