BACK FROM VERMONT
I am back from my trip and it as a lovely time. The foliage was still beautiful and the weather was crisp. I have never known the leaves to stay on the trees until mid-November, but they were still hanging on showing off the glorious, if somewhat muted shades. I took a lot of pictures which will be photoshopped and ready tomorrow ( hopefully). These photos are from the City of Burlington website and are just to give you a taste of the city that I love.
I promised last week to try and add something that I am grateful for as often as possible and after spending time with my 90 year old parents, they would be the obvious choice for today. Those of you who read my 7 random things know that I was adopted as an infant. I don't know what the circumstances of my birth are or what my life might have been like if I had not been adopted, but I had the most perfect childhood. I think many of us who grew up in the fifties can relate to a time that was simpler, a time when you could ride your bikes in the street and go to the drive-in in your pajamas and play on the swings before the movies. My parents provided my brother and me with such a wonderful sense of security and love and we have always felt special because we were "chosen". Thank you Mom and Dad for choosing and nurturing me.
I will leave you with this view of Lake Champlain from the Burlington waterfront. Those mountains in the background are the majestic Adirondacks of New York State.
More tomorrow,
Janet
