Well, I thought I would do a quick post while I wait.... and wait...still waiting for the Vet. There is a reason Bob often refers to her as the "Scatterbrain Vet". Yes, she is two hours late and I have called her cell and left a message, but still I wait. While waiting I have put an apple cake in the oven. It's the Carolyne Roehm recipe that Cindy @ My Romantic Home posted a few days ago. It's beginning to smell good in the oven and then I have a pork roast to put in for dinner. It is starting to snow and Christmas is on it's way here in a small New England town. Do I sound like Elizabeth Lane in Christmas in Connecticut yet?

The new kitty is here by my feet purring. I am betting on female. She has very short legs and a round little belly, hey is it me or the cat we are talking about? Oh yeah and she has sort of a unique shape to her face. Very, very soft fur and purrs a lot. Doesn't really like to be picked up which is why I am not checking her private parts right now.

A fellow Realtor sent me this Holiday Realtor Humor, that I thought you housepeepers might enjoy.

Sorry this is so small, but you know that I have no idea how to enlarge it. Guess you will just have to get those magnifiers out, LOL!!

Tomorrow I am going on a Holiday House Tour in Newburyport with two friends. Providence Tour is tomorrow, but we thought it might be fun to take the trek to Newburyport for a different tour. Should be fun although I don't think it is strictly a historical tour like Providence. Hopefully photos of the outside will be allowed. If so, I will take all that I can.

  1. Oh, have fun on the house tour. Several years ago I got to help with a house tour, all very old homes. There is nothing more fun at Christmas!

  2. Hi Janet, I've missed visiting you the past few days. Hope the holidays blahs are a thing of the past. Don't worry if you can't think of something to blog about every day -- we all understand. It's supposed to be fun! So go sit with a good book, have a cup of tea, and relax -- we'll still be here tomorrow! :)

I loved reading about your cats. As I write this, my cat, Jordan, is trying to climb up into my lap. Or trying to get me to put more "crunchies" in her dish!

    Enjoy the house tour!

  3. Hi Janet!
I was able to click on the humor picture and it enlarged...Cute!

My sister lives in Jamestown, RI. Small world!
p.s. I think the topiary rosemary is not made to last...I bought some last year too and they died...

  4. Yum! Can I come to dinner? I like cats but my hubby doesn't! Thats why we have 2 dogs..right now my little mutt is looking at me, groaning under her breath....whoop! her ball is stuck under my chair! have fun on the tour- hope you get lots of pictures!

  5. Janet,
The new fury member of the family is so adorable! How lucky he is or she...ha! I enjoyed your post...and while I'm really here for the apple cake, I'm glad I stopped in. I'm getting ready to head to bed...I've got an early start to take mom to dialysis, usually that gets me up at 4:30, and it's way past my bedtime.
Can't wait to see the pictures of the tour!!!!

  6. We have orange kitties and , I swear, they are different than any other color of kitty! Our vet just loves them...he says that ornage kitties just have a differnt disposition. True?? Who knows...

Enjoy the house tour...they did that in the small town where I work just last week. Of course, there's something lost, I think, when you do the tour in shorts and sandals. Ahh...Christmas in Florida.... ;)

  7. Congratulations on your newest family member...what a cutie pie!!! SO,do we know if it is a boy or a girl yet?
Loved the little comic you posted...I got a good laugh out of it when I read it :o)
Can't wait to hear all about the home tour...hope you took pics?!??!
    Happy Holidays!

  8. House tour sounds like fun. Can't wait for pics. I have that Christmas cartoon too.

  9. I remember Newburyport well - should look pretty decorated for Christmas - have a fun time.

Love that Calvin - when can we see the "black babies" and a pic of your new kitty? I no longer have cats - last one shared the cottage for 21 years and was our other (and best!)child.

Cheer up - sending a hug!

  10. I have something for you on my blog. Pop on over. :)

  11. Yummy, An apple cake and pork roast dinner. Sounds like the perfect between Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner. You have a vet that makes house calls? Let us know what she says about your new little kitty. And have fun on the house tours. They are so much fun.

  12. Hi, Janet, thanks for stopping by last week & the birthday wishes! I would have love to have gone on this house tour with you. Those look like some great historical homes.

Congrats on the "new" kitty & Merry Christmas to you.

Thanks for stopping by. Please leave me a comment if you have enjoyed my blog. I look forward to "chatting" with you.
